In this heart-stopping romantic suspense, USA Today best-selling Author Kennedy Layne brings you a pause-resisting story that will have you staying awake all night long.Gwen Kendall spent 10 years in the Navy and used the last four to create a life for herself she could be proud of away from the confines of her overprotective family. Being the only woman in the Kendall clan tended to be a bit overwhelming at times. Chad Schaeffer had been hired on to help restore an old farmhouse for one of the returning Kendall siblings. He’d heard about the trouble the family had encountered and honestly didn’t want to go anywhere near their properties. He had a change of heart when he saw the most recently returned Kendall sibling stepping out of her car with a key in her hand. Gwen had waited a very long time to have a place to call her own, just as she had waited for the right man to share her life. One night of seduction convinces her she’s found both, but someone wants to take it all away. It’s been said that old houses retain a piece of each person who has lived there, but she never counted on the dark shadows wanting a piece of her. Series description: Their homecoming wasn't so welcoming. Four brothers and one sister each gave 12 years of their lives to serve their country and fulfill their family's legacy of service. As each of them return to their home of record, they weren't prepared for what awaited them - an unforgivable sin that has been hidden for 12 long years. Secrets and lies are concealed in the dark shadows of the very town they were raised in, and the Kendall family will have no choice but to rely on one another to unravel the sinister evil that they all hold the keys to unlock. 1. Published for the first time in audio - Jon Pertwee's infamous autobiography, Moon Boots and Dinner Suits, read by Terry Molloy. Jon Pertwee's acting career began with a public performance at the age of four. He seems to have been expelled from most of the schools his actor-writer father, Roland Pertwee, sent him to and finally joined RADA in 1936. From there, too, he was asked to leave. Jon went into Rep and had a checkered career. In Brighton panic set in when he dressed as an old gardener in Love from a Stranger instead of as a young cleric in Candida. In 1938 came Jon's first radio role in the BBC's Lillibulero, in which year he also appeared in his father's play, To Kill a Cat, directed by Henry Kendall at the Aldwych Theatre. When war came he joined the navy, ramming Douglas Pier with an Isle of Man Steam Packet boat. He was blown up twice, once put on a marble slab and presumed dead, and spent many months stationed in the Scapa Flow. He was the founder of the Service Players in the Isle of Man. He was commissioned in the RNVR and transferred to naval intelligence, where he worked and became good friends with the future Prime Minister James Callaghan. Then Jon joined Naval Broadcasting. His radio series, The Navy Lark, ran for 18 years and produced some truly vintage memories of radio. Whether telling stories of a misspent youth, of his posterior's first painful introduction to a fives bat or of his exploits with the McKenzie sisters in the north of Scotland, Jon Pertwee's humour and natural wit never fail him. Moon Boots and Dinner Suits is a wry, funny and endearing portrait of the early years of a most innovative and well-loved actor. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Terry Molloy.
